Help answer this question below.

Do you think people who are cruel to animals should be punished by having the same done to them? For example, starving them w/o water or beat with a 2x4? Or the senseless act of cruelty they do to these animals. Do you think it would stop animal cruelty

    I'm in favor of eye for an eye, but You should ask people in Singapore, they get caned for a lot less than animal abuse, and their country is practically crime free, and it's neat and tidy.

    yes, people who do these things because the animal cant fight back, they are cowards, if they got the same done to them i think it would definatly stop.

    YES!! Yes I do. They should be whipped, fined, jailed, and made to wear a sign in public, that says they are convicted of cruelety. They should never, ever, be allowed to own animals again. Better, even, to brand them like they do cattle, so it is easy to recognize these pieces of sh--, and report them, if they have an animal or pet living with them.

    Think about th person who must administer the punishment,,, do you want to create a person who is as bad or worse than the person he is punishing,,,

    I do not think eye for an eye is appropriate in a civilised society. I do not think that your plan would stop animal cruelty, as cruel unthinking people exist no matter the penalty that is meted out to offenders.
    Education is a good tool, but even with education and criminal punishment, nothing will stop people who are sick from doing these things as they do not seem to have any feelings that are responsible.

    No, because that would, in itself, be cruelty, thus making you as bad as them.
    Also, if you think that is a fair punishment for animal cruelty, do you also want to the same applied to people???
    I am all for animal protection but within reason, people who hurt animals should not be allowed near animals until they can be trusted - but two wrong don't make a right.

    NO. I don't beleive you should enforce pain on someone else just to teach them doing the same thing to other living organisms is wrong. But I DO think that if people do it they should be punished and have the animal imediatly be taken away from them.

    I dont think doing the exact thing to the person that they do to their pet but i definetly think for ANY crime if you take a life (murder) your life should be taken(jail, not death).

    i think it would stop animal cruelty (to some extent) for sure! but i do NOT think that people should have the same things done to them that they do to animals... some of the things would just be too horiffic. but i think that they should definetly serve a good long sentence in jail.

    Most cruelty done to animals are usually due to ignorance, if the person is uneducated then they won't really learn the seriousness of what they have done by doing the same to them.

    Who would enforce this punishment? Could you sit by and watch a man starve nearly to death? Could you beat a woman with a 2x4? I like to think that put into any situation like that, I would have to walk away.

    I do and if I could pass a law..it would be. these people are cold hearted and have no respect for life. These are your future child abusers, elderly abusers, murderers, rapist, etc. I am so sick of people thinking that a "slap on the wrist" and don't do this again..will change this.. this is just the beginning
