hot tea, working out hard sometime during the day, dont eat shortly before going to bed, taking a hot shower, not doing anything too crazy right before bed...idk?
masturbate - seriously, it works.
Hot milk. Add a little vanilla "flavoring" (not extract) and sugar. It works well for me. Another: Take time to "unwind" before going to bed, then settle in with a good book. I usually fall asleep and don't even know I've gone.
Lots more beer!
There are some herbs you can take. I know one of them is Valerian Root. You can also try seeing a doctor or looking online for breething exercises before you go to sleep. I know it sounds stupid but it helped me alot because I have bad anxiety.
Lemon juice and cinnamon weird mixture but very effective also soymilk
a consistent sleep schedule is typically the best remedy. Its tough to do because it takes some discipline to implement, but if you strive to maintain a fairly consistent sleep schedule, you'll find that it is easier to fall asleep come bedtime.
As for being able to fall asleep when it comes time to, it is best to make an effort to clear your mind.
I personally am sometimes an insomniac because i work at home, and sometimes i find it easier to work while everyone else is in bed and i'm not distracted.
For me, i need to be tired when i go to bed (which you will be if you tune into a consistent schedule) then also, i need to clear my mind. I find that it helps to logically conclude that most of the things i find myself thinking or worrying about when i get in bed aren't worth pondering over at that point in time. I typically wake up not remembering much about what i was thinking about anyways.
chamomile tea and masturbation work well.
Set up a very quiet, dark environment. Turn the television off, turn off all the lights, and try to have a sleeping pattern. Go to bed at the same time every night. Try also not to think of problems during the day, because this will only keep you up longer.
