What can I use to remove sea salt build-up from a car's headlight covers?

• Thanks. Actually the car is from Florida, and I live in Michigan....I was just wondering why the headlights looked so dingy, and this is where I ended up.

• Ahhh. I'm guessing a mixture of road salt and oxidation has just built up and faded the plastic. It happens to those plastic headlights all around the country. Something the engineers surprisingly didn't foresee happening.
  If you call around you might be able to find a shop who will polish them. I wouldn't have a clue how much it would cost though.

• Get some very, very heat resistant gloves (winter gloves covered over with washing up gloves should work otherwise) and use boiling instead of warm water. If it won't damage anything, use a scouring pad/sponge. Something moderately rough.
