A lot of the time people tend to forget that an interview works both ways. You will always have the opporuntity to ask an employer questions at the end of the interview. The more intuitive and insightful your questions are illustrates how much you care - and goes well with the interviewer.

I would recommend asking questions such as:

"How would you describe the company culture here at ___"
"Where do you see your company five years from now"
"I'm constantly learning, does ___ offer the opportunity for career development?"
"What is the most rewarding aspect working at _____"

You get the point. Prior to an interview I always right down 5-10 questions that I would like answers to. You don't need to memorize them. Write them down, bring them to the interview, and if they as you can always refer to your sheet - it shows you came prepared.

Towards the end of the interview, ask the interviewer if they have any concerns about you being able to do the job or if they feel there are areas where you are lacking. If there are, they will more than likely tell you and it will give you a chance to address them (which if you didn't ask, you would not have had that chance). If they can't think of anything, it will just reinforce the fact you are the perfect person for the job. It also shows the interviewer that you are open to constructive criticism.

Ask them when was the last time they fired someone. A bad manager never needs to, people will just quit on them. A good one is forced to.

Ask him or her (if they're your potential new boss) what their management style is. If they're not, you could ask them something about their company .. do your research before so you have an idea of what would be a good question to ask.

Why do you want this job? What makes you better than everyone else who also wants this job?

    I dunno.
But I *wouldn't* ask if his wife was hot, where's a good place to sleep on duty or the phone number of the blonde receptionist out front!
    ;-)
