Is this a new law in California Babe? It will get folks off the road who don't have valid driver's licenses, cost them a bundle to get their car out of impound, and bring some money in to the state coffers. Since I've never driven with an invalid driver's license I really don't have any sympathy for those who do! :) ((hugs))

You're reading If you are stopped behind the wheel with no license, as of 11/01/09 , you have 20 min to find someone w/ a valid lic to drive the car (rather than impound the car). What are your thoughts?

City of SF. Now in CA, if you are stopped w/no lic - your car is impounded. The threat of impound has been the REAL deterrent to driving w/o lic. Now in SF, this new law provides a free out. This will facilitate MORE people w/no lic to drive - just have phone # of licensed pal at the ready.
