Deeply tacky, and more immediate because Bill Ayers had served his sentence and "paid his debt to society", where this guy is still an alleged murderer. However, freedom cuts both ways, and they are entirely entitled to do it. Hopefully, money does not buy justice and the guy will get a fair trial either way.

Thanks. In addition, as wrong as the Weather Underground was, they went out of their way to avoid injuring anyone. They targeted property damage only. A far cry from deliberate, premeditated murder.
