After a long day on your feet, it doesn't seem like a bad idea. Everything in cars these days is power assisted anyway, so a light touch on the brake or gas is all you need.

Being in florida I generally wear flip flops or high heels. So I normally remove them and place them in the door cubby so they don't get caught on the mat while driving stick it's just much safer for me but everyone is different.

Usually I drive barefoot or with sandals on. I prefer the pedal feel. Plus it feels nice after a long day to just kick them off and turn the vents on high.
