Help answer this question below.

My computer will just randomly restart without an error message. It usually seems to do this when I am on MySpace, but it has happened on other websites. What could be the possible reasons for this?

    If it's powering off with no warning, I'd be looking at a few things.
    Your power supply. They do go bad and a small fluctuation in voltage to the mobo will shut it down.
    Dust bunnies. Fans and heat sinks clog up with them, especially if you have pets in the house. Get a can of compressed air ( computer store) and blow the dust out. DON'T use a vacuum cleaner. That will induce a static charge that can fry components.
    You might have an unwelcome guest residing in your hard drive. There are some trojan horse's and remote administration tools out there that can turn your PC off on a whim, although usually but not always, you'll get some error or shut down message.
    A bad stick of ram. Yes, even though it passed the POST test, it can still have areas on it that can't store data properly and will cause an immediate shut down. Normally an error screen is presented but again, not always.

    One possibilty is that the processor could be over heating and restarting to keep itself from burning out.

    If you have had your computer for several years, there could be a large build up of dust in side the case. Which can prevent the fans from properly ventilating and keeping the computer at an cool enough temperature to operate. The dust can prevent the fans from rotating. Try poping the case open and take a look. If it looks dirty take a cloth and wipe the fans as best you can.

    Could be other possiblities like you may have a virus(es).
