Many people in the modern world believe that the prevailing theory of the cosmos in Columbus time was that the Earth was flat -- i.e. there's a widespread myth that educated people thought the Earth was flat. This isn't true. The Greeks knew the Earth was round, and that knowledge survived the Dark Ages and was well known in 1492.

Many people think that the First Amendment right of free speech means they can say anything to anyone without any type of retribution. They don't understand the Constitutional protection is against retribution from the government only.
Many people think that common law marriage is automatic after a certain number of years living together. That's incorrect. It's only recognized in some states and the key is "intent to be married."

Racism is primarily between races not religions. Middle Easterners are not Americans are they? They hate Americans, that is racist. Pure hatred against a nationailty is racism. Skinheads hate mixed blood. They are white and they hate Jews, Italians, Greeks etc., they are all considered white but that is pure and unadulterated racisim because they have roped themselves off as a specific group and hate other people because of their nationalities. Stop twisting words that you don't read and saying something else. Learn how to read a comment already. UNSUB.
