How so many folks get it in their head that it cannot be mistranslated despite evidence to the contrary.

Matthew 5: 17-20 17"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.
So one law was no eating pork. let us start with that. It says if I break even the least of these laws then I will be the least in heaven.
So how do Christians justify eating pork?

1 Kings 22: 19-23 23Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.
Why would the Lord make people lie to his chosen people?

    Leviticus
1# And the hare, because he cheweth the cud.--11:6
2# But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you. -- 11:23
3# And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls ... the bat--11:13, 19
4# All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.--11:20
5# Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet.--11:21
6# All other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.--11:23
    Deuteronomy
7# Ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud.--14:7
8# Of all clean birds ye shall eat. But these are they of which ye shall not eat: ... the bat.--14:11, 18

    Isaia
9# They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.--59:5

The sun does not revolve around the Earth. The Earth isn't flat. All insects have 6 legs, none have 4. The bat isn't a bird. People who believe in Christ shall be able to survive the bites of poisonous snakes.

I find the "trinity" a little hard to comprehend. Also, John 10:30 clearly states that Jesus IS God, so why does the Bible continue to refer to Him as the "Son of God?"

2 Peter 3:8 However, let this one fact not be escaping your notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.
Does this imply that one day = 1000 years to God or was this a metaphor for a long time? If I read it literally then one day would be a thousand years to God. If this is correct, then God created the world in 6000 years. This still does not correlate with science as science says the world is over a 4.5 billion years old. And the dinosaurs walked the Earth over 100 million years ago.
If taken as a metaphor a day to God would then mean 750,000,000 million human years.
So is a day to God then always 750,00,000 years like one year to us is always one year, or does it fluctuate because God lives outside of time?

I Cor. 14:34-36 - As in all churches of God's people, the women should keep quiet i the meetings, they are not allowed to speak: as the Jewish law says they must not be in charge. If they want to find out something, they should ask their husbands at home. It is a disgraceful thing for a women to speak in church.
Explain this to me, I am a women and my husband is an atheist, if I asked him he would tell me it is all garbage. I do believe women are capable and should be allowed to lead church services if that is their calling.

I used to be there, always a believer but after the day the Holy Spirit of God revealed itself to me that changed.I had always thought the KJV difficult but after that day it was not, after that day I had an insatiable appetite and curiosity for the truth of God that made me study which grounded me in the word giving me a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ which trumps religion. Religion was merely the stepping stone in the foundation of my faith for we all have to start somewhere but there is the knowledge we learned that saved us then there is the knowledge to be learned after we are saved, this is how we mature in Christ. If all Christians had the HS there'd be no denominations we'd all be of one accord in Christ as the word demands. If that is not the reason why, what is the reason? I can prove w/o a doubt(to the faithful)that Rev. 3:10-13 represent the rapture of the Church using only the evidence that is before your eyes and with the same I can show that most of Christianity are among the "left behind" for in vs. 20 Christ stands at the door and knocks. Who knocks on a door from the inside? He is on the out side because His Church has departed. Since this a church door there could only be Christians on the other side, He is telling them to come out of their religions. In vs. 19 although His Bride is departed He still shows His grace to His believers telling them to repent. Who else could they be but believers since the word says that the Gospel was written only for believers. All Christians are not the Bride of Christ and the rapture culls the faithful Christian from the nominal Christian, the faithful learn to worship God as He says in Spirit and Truth, the nominal Christians are the ones trapped by self in religions for religion is (Romans 10:3)is established by man's self righteousness. Cain and Abel were the shadow of this:God had to have taught Adam the proper sacrifice and no doubt Adam taught his sons the same but Abel did it God's way while Cain did it his way(righteousness) which did not please God which resounds in Romans 10:3. Romans 10:3 and John 14:26 are taken for grant by "churchologist" and it is phony believers as those who established raptureready.com who have the ear of only the "left behind".

    Let's see.
    1. The language is so old that it has been re-written and re-edited a zillion times.
    2. The Book is 2,000 years old and what they meant and the customs back then are totally incomprehensible for someone to try and follow in this day and age. Are we going to begat with our relatives for instance?
    3. Not one person alive today agrees with what another thinks after reading it.

OT - Numbers 15: 32-36 Why would God want people to be stoned for collecting wood. I know it was the sabbath but still. Why would he changes the rules with the new covenant wouldn't that mean he was wrong to have people be stone i the first place?

Nothing. All scripture is spiritually discerned. If you do not have the Spirit of Christ, you cannot comprehend scripture. 1 Corinthians 2:1-16.

I find nothing confusing about 'The Bible' and found it to be a good read. However, I do not understand how anyone could have built a belief system around it.

It doesn't really confuse me anymore as I've accepted the Bible as the word of God as perceived, written, and constantly re-translated by man. We all know man is prone to sin, right?

People who insist that the Bible is a literal work as opposed to a metaphorical one are complete headcases who need to get a life anyhow. When Christ says, "I am the door," he's quite obviously not speaking of a literal door. The Bible regularly uses such metaphorical language to make a point.
