  • I've heard brushing your teeth and mouthwashing are suppose to help you not want to eat sweets.
  • There is no miracle diet pill. The reason you're feeling the hunger pains could be for a couple reasons. The first is water. If you do not drink enough water then your body, instead of making you feel thirsty, decides to make you feel hungry. The second could be that you have taught your body to be hungry at certain times. The way to alleviate that is to eat your food spread out throughout the day instead of three big meals. The third could be that you actually are hungry and need to eat. From teh sound of it you want to lose weight. What you need to do is become more active so that you use the calories you put in your body while spreading our your meals so that you don't feel hungry, and it also kicks up your metabolism making you burn more faster.
  • Drink a pint of water then go brush your teeth instead of heading for the fridge go for a run or a walk if your hungry and looking for a sweet taste grab some grapes My friend joined a slimming group called "Slimming world" Shes lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks and is eating more than ive ever seen her eat!
  • Never go grocery shopping on an empty stomach! You will buy anything and everything just because you are hungry. I have eaten and gone shopping and bought a LOT less! Also, chew minty gum or eat tic tacs while you're cooking. It keeps you from wanting to taste everything or "pick" before eating an entire meal. :0) Good luck! My diet starts today!
  • Hi MissHoneyBee! There are many things you can do to curb hunger! Here are a few tips: Drink a full glass of water when you wake up in the morning, and again before every meal. Drink at least 8 glasses during the day. Eat a hearty breakfast of whole grains and proteins. These take a longer to digest than sugared cereals and juices, so will leave you feeling full longer. Anything with sugar increases your appetite. Don't add sugar to any foods. Avoid all candy, soda pop and fruit juices as these are loaded with sugar which will give you a short burst of energy and then leave you feeling sluggish, tired and hungry. So you will eat again for more energy. It is an endless cycle. If you must have fruit juice, dilute it with water. Eat plenty of snacks but make sure they are celery sticks, nuts, apples, oranges, carrot sticks and other raw veggies. These will leave you feeling full and satisfied. Combined with plenty of water, you will feel less hungry at your next meal time. You can eat throughout the day, every few hours, as long as you are eating fresh fruits, vegetables and nuts (instead of chips, candy bars, cookies etc.) This really works. You will be surprised at the energy you feel! Good Luck!! :-)) +5
  • When I get the munchies, I brew up a cup of green tea. It takes away the hunger and makes me feel relaxed (which is good if you tend to eat when you are upset or angry). As other people have pointed out, brushing one's teeth also helps. Once you've got that minty taste in your mouth, any food you consume will taste awful, so you won't want to eat. But if you have tried everything in the book to distract yourself and you're still hungry after 20 minutes, go ahead and eat, because that's probably legitimate hunger. Just make sure to eat a light snack, like sugar-free cereal, butter-free popcorn, or fruit. One of my favorite snacks is apple slices dipped in peanut butter. It will satisfy your sweet tooth like a candy bar, and the protein in the peanut butter will fill you up.
