Tough question! My favorite scary movie has both. I don't like slasher films at all. There's nothing scary about them I don't think. Except for Rob Zombie's re-make of Halloween - That is SCARY! Didn't like the 2nd one as much though.

Psychologically... I cannot stand slashers. Blood removes the enjoyable horror element for me, its all about the suspense. Blood and gore just makes me close my eyes!
