with any study, especially studies related to behavior, it is almost never a *causal* relationship they can prove. its often near impossible. all they can do is show correlation of things lining up. notice even the title uses the word 'linked' ...
researchers and publishers and people who use "research studies" to back up a hot topic know this, and they can be very manipulative, so its good practice to really scrutinize what they are saying.

Well, they have found a nice way to make a living. They always get the necessary funding for their research projects.

Suicidal thought are usually deep rooted in thought of inadequacy or feelings of low self worth...how the world would be a better place without you...most young people go thru this but have the strength to pull out of these thoughts...were as adults who experiece it usually have financial or relationship difficulties....exposure to pesticdes does not bring such things on

As a farmer I have been exposed to pesticides often enough. I know people who work in pesticide depots the strong smell in which will drive us away in seconds. So I was sure the study results I read about were somehow wrong.
Thanks very much for your answer, Juan. +6.

Depression and the medication doctors put you on for the depression. I think maybe an unstable or bad childhood could also be a factor.

Depression. I have never known a happy person who contemplated suicide. Unfortunately one of the many side effects of medication for this condition may be that it causes suicidal thoughts. It is a very tricky situation and sometimes many meds have to be tried before the right mix has been discovered and the person who is suffering from clinical depression is helped.

Self medication for depression that many people do could be even more dangerous, Rosie. +6.

I agree. Perhaps that is what causes alcoholics and drug addicts....self-medication. It is all very sad my friend!
