Help answer this question below.
Its difficult to believe in general terms. The whole old testament represents the person of the creator Father of us all. the old and new testament helps us see the father of all creation how he loves us individually as a father loves his son.
I believe in the historicity of the OT; I believe that God inspired the words men used to write the OT; I believe that knowing the OT is good for gaining wisdom and learning about Salvation; I believe that the OT is good for us to use to see God's track record; I believe that everything in the OT is true, faithful and inerrant.

...believe in... As history? Yes. As preparation for the coming of Jesus? Yes. As God's final word? No.
I love the Old Testament! So many awesome stories! It's definitely a goodie!!! I believe the essence of it, although I think the facts aren't 100% accurate.
Yes. Do I believe it is the most important part of the bible? No.
the first part of the bible is more correctly known as the hebrew/aramaic scriptures, since it was mostly written in hebrew and a very small portion of it in aramaic. reason being: when the bible is referred to as old and new testaments, it gives the impression that some parts of the bible are antiquated as well as outdated. nothing could be further from the truth. the hebrew scriptures is full of details such as history, stories, (including how the arab nations would come to be a great people as was prophesied). many prophecies that are yet to be fulfilled. the hebrew scriptures describe in graphic details how this system of things is fast approaching its end. it also describes in vivid terms how earth will be transformed into the paradise Jehovah God purposed since the beginning of mankind. there is much to learn from this part of the bible. for more information go to www.watchtower.org
