If the mother and daughter have a good relationship otherwise, then yes, I am a firm believer in parents instructing their offspring on sexual things. Who better to teach her daughter how to masturbate then her mother? Same for a son and his father. Girls are a little more complicated however than guys.
Parents need to get over sexual embarrassments with their children. They should not rely on "Sex ed" classes to do it...every state is different in teaching and none do better than a poor job.

No my mom never did this. Although we had talk she never cross that line. I feel parents now a days a blurring the line of what apprioiate and not apprioiate for their kids. Now I would talk to them about masturbating and maybe buy them things to help aid them and that depend on what age they are. I agree, I've known a lot of girls who were too ashamed of their sexuality to enjoy it. If a trusted figure like a mother were to teach them how to explore their sexuality in a safe and loving way I think more women would find it easier to achieve orgasms. as for boys... we are pretty god at figuring it out on our own :-)
