Help answer this question below.

He was still alive to see the company he started so many years ago, expand to become one of the largest corporations. Is expand correct or should be expanded. (2009-10-25)

    Either could be used, but the meaning of the sentence would be different.

    As it is written, it states that he was alive long enough to have witnessed the expansion process.

    If you would to change it to "expanded", it would state that he was alive long enough to see it AFTER it HAD expanded.
