Question

Help answer this question below.

I am a white woman who is very attracted to black men. However, I have read they have 7 times the rate of HIV compared to the general population, which is enough to scare me away from them. But does that also make me a racist?

being that I am a black woman, I'm mostly into Latino man, the 'BIG D---" theory isn't true about all black man, just like I would think that the theory about white man haven't "Little D---" wouldn't be true. Never been with a white man, but I'm sure both theory aren't true

It doesn't make you a racist, it makes you cautious. Insist that any partner you have has an STD test before you sleep with him, regardless of his race. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Your not a racist if you are attracted to black men. If you are concerned then maybe condoms should come into affect and if you can both of you get an AIDs test. Wouldnt hurt anyway. Its said that you sleep with everybody your partner has ever slept with when you sleep with them. And the other way around. Good Luck LittleMissSunshine.

it does not make you a racist if you like black men but are afraid of the fact that their culture is permeated by STD's. That is a logical fear/decision. However, some white folks and possibly other types of people (races) may dislike you because you like black men. I'm sure you are aware of this. Anyway, since you are admittedly attracted to black men, I would ask, what is it about black men that makes you attracted to them? is it purely the "big dick" story that is propagated by society or is it other qualities of black men that women are attracted to? If it is the latter, what are those qualities? I am assuming you are a white woman...

No. It makes you concerned about your sexual health.

    1) When and where was it that you read this 7% "study"? (Depending on when it was published, its data may or may not be up-to-date.)

    2) In what part of the world was the "study" conducted? (Certain countries have higher percentages of maladies in comparison to other parts of the world.)

    3) What age group(s), socio-economic populations and risk factors were "studied"? (Intra-venious drug users, for example, have higher infection rates than non-users do. If the "study" looked at a diverse cross-section of society, it's less likely to be biased.)

    4) Who commisioned the "study"? (In an effort to uphold or advance their own position, certain groups/organizations publish biased or falsified reports as "news" or "fact".)

No amount of studies can protect you like common sense and sensible precautions can. Knowing the sexual health and something of the sexual history of a potential partner BEFORE you swap body parts and bodily fluids with them is a smart thing to do, regardless of their race, nationality, color, gender, etc, etc.

I don't think that it makes you racist per se but I would question your statistics and their source. Regardless of the race of the man you want to date you should be able to ask him out right if he's healthy before you sleep with him.
