You wouldn't think so, but with recent news I wouldn't let my child ride a bus. We don't have school buses here so mine never did anyway, but it is horrible that kids are snatched waiting for the bus.
absolutely! It was unheard of when I was going to school. Now, you read in the paper all the time about some pervert trying to get a little kid in their car.
Depends on where you live. I did this since I was seven years old till high school - no problems that whole time. I lived in a pretty good area though. I'd say overall the risk is still very low.

I was stopped for speeding. According to IL law an automatic appearance in court is required. How do I settle this w/? trips to IL from CT?

You're reading How great is the risk of kids who must wait alone for a bus to pick up/drop off (or they have to walk alone back & forth) ; of being injured, kidnapped or murdered? Is the risk increasing with the passage of time?

I agree. It really freaks me out that these poor kids (and their parents) have to worry and never feel safe. That little 7 (I think) year old girl that was walking home with her twin brother and sister; but ran ahead of them, made me realize they are never really safe. It's so sad to me! Thank you Thrifymaid.
