If I see a homeless person, I'll give him a free (for him) copy of the local want-ad section from the daily newspaper, so he can get a job and be a contributing member of society, once again.

I'll give FOOD to a homeless person, but never money.

I have given many homeless men/women money .. I am not the type to give something but dictate how it is used.. that to me, is not the meaning of giving.
Sometimes I drive on by.. and sometimes if I have a dollar or five dollars.. if it is in my heart to give it, I will.
If they do not want a hot meal and want a bottle.. I do not care.
I have given a bum a bottle of liquor to pass a cold night and not batted an eye whether it was right or wrong.

I am a Guardian ad litem for the state of Florida and I encourage any and all to become one. Some states have CASA instead of GALs.. but there are many abused and neglected children needing someone to stand up for them in the court system and keep an eye on them.

We have 20k just in the county that I live in... 20k in one county. Imagine your county.. other counties..
Get involved.. give your time and get rewarded.

Technically speaking, I can make a difference by NOT doing anything. But enough with the Republican tactics.

Mentoring a child is a possibility.
