Well you see officer, I'm colour blind. I could've sworn I was being tailed by an electrical storm for the last 4 hours.

Thank you officer. I was preoccupied with [fill in the blank]. If I was speeding AND missed seeing you, I really needed this wake up call.

Nothing, I just politely offer up my drivers license/registration/proof of insurance and respond with just "yes sir" or "no sir." I'm always respectful. I've gotten out of 3 tickets. And honestly, the fact that they didn't give me a ticket actually made me more cautious then if they had given me one. Every time, I've felt lucky and vowed to never break that law again. Which I've done. Each time was for a different reason.

I say I will see them in court, and dispute the ticket.I remain polite about it and do not take it personally.Very many times if you go to court the ticket is less severe. If the officer does not show up it is thrown out of court, and this does happen .

Officer: "Do you know why I pulled you over?"
    Me: "Yes."
Officer: "Why did I pull you over."
Me: "If you don't know, I'm certainly not going to tell you."

It's worked twice. I'm very careful of my speed now. No point pushing my luck.
