    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Thirty percent of genital warts disappear without treatment, according to the Mayo Clinic. Prescription medications can destroy wart tissue, and surgery can take care of warts that don't respond to medication. The virus that causes the warts---HPV or human papillomavirus---however, cannot be cured.
