No. Because it was a lie. At the time the US government was talking about MAD it had constructed a facility beneath a motel in Virginia to which all members of congress and there families were to be taken. Just the public was going to die. The government whose policies brought on the war would live. As far as I am concerned if I and all my family are going to die I want those people to die along with me. That's the only way they would give their decisions proper gravity. Knowing THEIR families would die as well.

only for moral opponents.. since russia is no longer a valid moral opponent... and china is willing to lose 3 or 400 million people in the process,... there is no longer a mutual assurance stance...usa has adopted a new policy
