Is it true that a woman gets a "burst" of energy right before she goes into labor?

    I think it really varies depending on the woman (like everything in pregnancy/birth!)

    I have many friends who say they disinfected the house top to bottom a day or so before labour and had lots of energy.

    I didn't notice any difference in myself (first time mum) - however my contractions started out at 1 and a half minutes apart and I gave birth in just four hours! It was early in the morning so I was sleepy - I spent most of the labour in a shower, bent over a birthing ball and trying to doze.

    No. And labor itself (at least for first births) is usually a very long process, often lasting two days. So before this would have to be perhaps 3 days before giving birth.
