Nothing is wrong with the term. It is often misused, though, in racial rants in place of words they can't say anymore. You aren't supposed to notice that, I guess, but I do.

Nothing is wrong with it if applied to a person who is in a country illegally. That's a no-brainer.

    You are all badly mistaken.

EVERYONE HAS A LEGAL RIGHT TO ENTER A COUNTRY TO APPLY FOR ASYLUM. Illegal immigrants are ONLY those who have e.g. overstayed their visa, or crossed the border illegally without applying for official recognition.

ENTERING A COUNTRY IRREGULARLY IS NOT NECESSARILY ILLEGAL.

Asylum seekers are exercising their LEGAL right to enter the country!

Nothing at all. If I enter a sovereign nation under illegal means and assume a false identity, I am an illegal immigrant. Every country in the world where I attempted this would classify me as that. I would be subject to arrest, and deportation. In some, I could even be accused of spying and be incarcerated indefintely, even executed.

Nothing at all, although the "politicallly correct" crowd would want us to think there is.
