Does using anti-perspirant under your arms cause an increase in perspiration elsewhere on your body?

    theres some causes of excessive sweating.. some of which might be worth noting..

    the purpose of sweating is to cool off mostly, and to help get rid of some toxins.

    .. it makes your cells retain fluid (sweat).

    I have to say, though, if you block off sweating, like if you block of anything in the body, it finds a way to compensate.. the reduced cooling efficacy will result in you cooling off in other ways.. tho it might not be in such a way that its noticeable in a great increase of sweating elsewhere.

    it might be worth noting that aluminum (in a lot of antiperspirants) is a neurotoxin or something, so if its affecting the metabolism of your brain maybe thats whats making you sweat more there? i doubt it though ;p

    The answer is no. The sweat glands are not connected in a complete system and for that reason even if you did "block" off one area from producing sweat there would be no way for your body to transfer it to another location other that one very close to the arm pit itself.
