According to Diverse Power, the average toaster uses around 1500 W of power. If used an average of three hours per month, a toaster will consume around 3 1/2 kWh of electricity.

The average 2 slice toaster uses 1200 watts and a 4 slice uses 1800 watts, so if you're planning on making several slices of toast at a time, the 4-slice toaster is more energy efficient.
