What is the most difficult situation you were ever in concerning housing a pet and keeping the pet with you?

We had a beautiful apartment a long time ago & were not to have animals. My kids brought home 2 different puppies within 2 days of each other badly beaten & starved & we could not say no. We got caught & given the choice to move or get rid of them. The good lord helped us find a house to buy within days that was a big step up & we got to keep them. I'll be darned if the kids did'nt bring home 3 more which now puts us at 5 :) +5

Fact from fiction, truth from diction. The hardest thing I ever had to do in regards of pets was when I had to have my cat of 17.5 years put down because she got too sick to be healed. Other than that it was how any new pet would get along with the pets already there and what to do if they didn't.
