The fact that the Conservatives of the U.S. have been ceaselessly sniveling ever since the Presidential election, indicates to me that the votes are getting counted.
Such whinings would be enough to upset a statue.
I'm not a North American, but I can tell you straight that in most countries that profess to practice 'democracy', the democratic process is skewed in favour of those that rule.
It's perfectly natural, almost unavoidable (if you don't seek to avoid it).
Basically, the people we have who put themselves forward to 'lead' us, lie to us.
