The same - if not worse than smoking

second hand smoke is almost as bad as smoking. It can lead to lung cancer too...not to mention it can make hair and clothes smell. My mom used to smoke when I was little and as a result, I ended up having asthma. She quit cold turkey when I was 8 and hasnt done it since.

Depends on how much smoking is going on and how long you are exposed to it? You could wind up with bronchitis or pneumonia or even emphysema or lung cancer.

no-one seems to know for sure. There are ppl who swear it is the ultimate evil, but the research that they site is sketchy. some ppl say that normal air polution is worse than the casual secondhand smoke. Penn & Teller featured it on there Bullshit series. One thing that you have to remember, if ppl do get lung cancer from 'actually' smoking it can take up to 70 yrs to see the effects. So I tend to doubt that second hand smoke is that bad, unless a young child or infant is exposed, there bodies are prone to many things that are safe for adults

Really it depends on how close you get to it, how much you breath in and for how long. If one person smoked in the same house as you, your immediate effects would be some assimilation of nicotine (increasing your blood pressure by constriction of your blood vessles). Over time you might have an increased suseptability to colds and your lungs will begin to look as if you smoked. Second hand smoke from walking by someone on the sidewalk smoking is nothing unless you have debilitating asthma. Second hand smoke from dancing in a crowded place with a lot of people smoking is sore lungs the next day as if you smoked a couple cigs, which you did.
