Why does everyone hate tom cruise

I am sure not everyone does but I dislike him now due to these reasons:

-He has become very arrogant
-He is a overly zealous Scientologist, who thinks anyone who is not a Scientologist knows nothing about how to treat mental illness and many other things
-He and his wife are camera hungry for any kind of publicity they can get
-His quality of work has gone downhill

Those are my main reasons for not caring for him like I did when he was doing Rainman and other GOOD movies years ago.

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't hate Tom Cruise. I don't know him personally, so to say that I hated him would be somewhat extreme. I think he is over-exposed, certainly, and that is annoying, at most.

Hate is a strong word for someone I do not actually know.

But a reaction to some of his recent antics- I find that he is often a pompous gas bag who believes a little too much of his own press, is a little too fond of himself, thinks he knows much more than he does, has taken poor Katie hostage, and must have an incredibly difficult time fitting his head through the door.

Not that I feel strongly about this or anything....

I don't hate him. I don't know him. And you honestly can't believe anything you hear or see on TV and stuff like that because they only show what they want you to see for a good story.

His original popularity depended upon his being a good match to an archetype which he no longer fits well. When people are disappointed with the object of their attraction, it is common to feel anger toward the object who is blamed for deceiving them.

I don't be he is annoying as HELL!!!! He's completely turned out to be a freak. I used to really respect him as an actor at one time. But he has just flipped his lid. He talks against Mental Illness and Psychiatry, HE'S the one that needs electro-shock. I have Bi-polar and can seriously tell you that poor man is GONE. good question though.

The main reason I dislike the fellow is because, from what I've heard, he's an incredibly vain and shallow person.

He has a history of refusing to play any role that involves his character being "Ugly" or "Disfigured", and just look at the women he dates, just about every single one of them has fit the standards of conventional good looks to a tee.

I don't really mind the whole "Crazy" angle, he has a right to his beliefs, and I actually admire his enthusiasm.
I just can't stand vanity.

I don't hate him. I'm not a fan. He filmed part of 'War of the Worlds' locally and he was nice enough to sign autographs and take pictures with fans.

I don't understand,he is an actor and in the limelight.He has a personality like everyone else.His job is to entertain, and many times people in the media are harshly judged.He could be opinionated,but aren't we all to some extent.He is envolved with Scientology ,but thats his business.

I don't hate Tom Cruise, I just find him throughly annoying. Jumping on sofas over Katie Holmes? Honestly! I heard a little tid bit of gossip while shopping in London last May. The girl who was attending to me said that Katie was very "controlled" by Tom. That is not to say the gossip is true, but I did find that interesting.

Surely not everyone hates him. He's made millions on his movies; some people must like him for that to happen. I have never cared for him as an actor and never saw what was so great about him; but, most people really liked him. His antics lately have cooled his fan base; but, I think he's still very popular. Heck, even Michael Jackson still has supporters.

Well, hate is a bit harsh, I don't know him so therefore I cannot hate him but i just think he is overrated and obnoxious but again that is only in the ways the media portrays him.

Scientoligist! Is my number one reason. Plus the fact hes just so unappealing. His movie effects have gone to his head, He acually thinks he's a tough guy, He's such a wimp.
