I got my nipples pierced 2 weeks ago, I have never had a baby, never been pregnant.. and yet my nipples are producing this whitish clear fluid... is it normal to lactate after getting your nipples pierced?

• Yeah, I use sea salt for all my piercings as well.. I recently got both of my eyebrows done, and I went and bought saline solution instead of making my own after care sea salt or buying the H2Ocean piercing cleaner.

• Wow, that is fairly uncommon. I am interested in hearing how this turns out, ie what will you be able to do to remedy the situation. Have you been in close association with a woman who is pregnant or that has recently had a child?

• I know a few women who are ready to "pop" as i call it... and i know a few who just had some that have their nipple pierced. They say that if your nipple goes through some trauma *ie piercings, bitten* that it can lactate.. im not sure i believe them.

• The reason that I asked is that there is scientific evidence that a childless woman can lactate if she is generally in very close proximity to a woman who is ready to give birth or or recently has done so. That combined with the trauma of piercing could have caused it.

• i have been around a few pregnant women, but only for a few minutes at a time. Sometimes i will see 1 pregnant woman a week and other times i wont see one, the only time i really see them is at the mailbox * my neighbor is pregnant* and at my job * i work in a doctor's offc.

• That would explain it too. Being around all of the airborne hormones (pheromones, the function of which science is only beginning to understand) explains a lot. That combined with the trauma of a piercing, which would be a similar nipple trauma to having to wet nurse the infant of a mother who for some reason could feed their child, explains your lactation to me. Thanks.

  Several of my friends have their nipples pierced and they can still breastfeed.

• Untrue. The glands that produce milk are not even close to nipple. The nipple is the terminus for the ducts from the glands. -3
