I currently self-prescribed myself onto suboxone. I buy it from people that have prescriptions but don’t take it. I was addicted to vikoden for over 2 years and was taking 10-20 750mg pills a day. I finally said enough is enough. Actually, i ran out of money and was having MAJOR withdraws and remember i have 2 suboxone pills in my dresser drawer. I remembered being told it would help with the withdraws from vikoden. I've been taking the suboxone instead of vikoden, for almost 3 weeks now. I break the pill into 4 equal pieces and take one piece every 6 hours. The first couple days i was on suboxone, i had minor withdraws from not taking the vikoden, but nothing compared to if i wasn’t taking it. After those first couple days, I felt normal again. When i say "I felt normal", I’m talking about before i took the vikoden or any drug. The suboxone did not get me high what so ever and I didn’t feel any negative side effects. I plan to start weaning myself down to 1/8 of the pill for a couple weeks then get off of it because i don’t want to get addicted to that too. I was told if you don’t take the suboxone the way your supposed to and don't start weaning off of it in months’ time or less, you can get addicted to it and it is worse withdraws than the vikoden. Oh, another positive about suboxone is that i noticed while on it, i don’t even get cravings to take the vikoden. One time i ran out of the suboxone and took a vikoden. It did nothing to me because i still had the suboxone in my system from the day before. In my research i found out that suboxone has something in it that blocks receptors in your brain so if u do take anything else, it won’t work. This was great for me because it made it pointless for me to want to take the vikoden again if it wasn’t going to do anything. The bad thing i think about that though is someone might keep taking more & more vikoden to try to get the high not knowing that it still won’t do anything) and overdose. I hope my experiences will help you and others who are interested in this subject =)
