Is a clean, clutter-free car less likely to be broken into than a messy one?

I am not a car thief so I don't know what they are thinking. I would want a clean car over a heap any day if I was going to steal. Maybe you are thinking that if it is a mess, someone is careless and it can be broken into easier. That may be the case, but the clean car will probably be worth more. The clean car and the dirty car are just as likely to be able to be broken into, so why not pick the clean?

I figure that the more the clutter, the more objects that might appeal to someone doing a smash-and-grab.
