In California, Volunteers of any kind are NOT covered by WC and usually have to sign an acknowledgement that this has been explained to them and they understand. WC rates are usually based on job classification and salary, so if there is no pay, what can WC be based on?
If a company computer catches a virus and management believes customer credit card information was put at risk do they need to report this?
