I dont think the planet itself is overpopulated, there are some densely populated places but take America for instance, If every person spread out into an equal grid we would all be about 13 miles from each person, thats alot of uncharted territoty.

There are concentrations of overpopulation. Cities are an example. Now that mankind has developed excellent communications systems, it time to move into the country again and let these urban hellholes grow over.
