Yup, I play the tuba!!! I mainly play trumpet, though. I also play the French horn.

I started playing the tuba in sixth grade after unsuccessfully trying to play the trumpet for three years. I took private lessons with Gene Pokorny when he was a student at the University of Redlands. Today, Gene is the tubist with the Chicago Symphony. I began playing professionally at the age of 16. I was a tuba player in U.S. Army bands in Germany, California, and New Jersey. I have both bachelor's and master's degrees in tuba. Even though I work now as a communications professor in Vietnam, I am always looking for new places where I can play tuba here in this wonderful country. So the answer is, "Me... I can play the tuba."
