No not really ...

Yes. Sometimes I post to state a certain position. If I get more points than I think I have made my point pretty well. + 5
-
No. I must admit I've never even noticed that nor have looked for that relationship of points. :) +5

I imagine that it would, but I don't remember that happening. Frankly, I'm happy just to get some points. On the other hand, if I've put a lot of thought and effort into an answer, or thought myself to have been particularly funny, it gives me great satisfaction to be the "top" answer (in ratings).

No, I don't notice how many points the question or answer gets. Mine are all about the same. I guess if I had lots of points on any question or answer I would notice.
-
It means nothing and the answers are a grain of salt to many. I have no probs with the ratings. Some Qs are fishing for points and many others don't give a flip/ I answer for numerous reasons at the time.

Never noticed Mensan. I just answer and only go back to my answer if I get a comment . if no more comments come up I dont go back. I do like the long threads i get into though. thats what rings my bell on here. the to and fro I hardly ever ask a question. +5

Actually that makes me a little uncomfortable. I feel badly for the person who posted the question.
-
I have never had that happen to me before, but I can see how that would be funny in an ironic way.
-
It tickles me pink!
-
I suppose it does but I really don't pay much attention to it.
-
Nope. Since I'm not a points person I don't notice stuff like that! :)
-
sure, it does feel good, somehow. it depends on "why" i think that it happened - i might feel pride or vindication or pleasure or just that my view seems to be shared by more people than a strongly worded question ...
