  • There is a difference between male and female circumcision. His is religious and hygienic; her's is religious and mutilation.
  • What most people forget is that circumcision has no support from medical groups around the world. It is considered cosmetic and unnecessary, since simple soap n water are more effective. Secondly adults rarely choose circumcision , it is something that is done on infants/children against their will. Once a person becomes an adult the idea of removing healthy body parts just doesn’t make sense… Circumcised males - do not believe that more genital cutting will benefit them , more isn’t better, and they never had a choice in their own circumcision. And Intact males - do not believe that genital cutting will benefit them, when their body is normal and healthy. Is it any surprise that adult females show little interest in female circumcision and the possibility it could provide vast or even minor benefits?
  • I think it would be fair. The equivalent for a woman is removal of the labia and clitoral hood - which some adult women do opt to have done as a lifestyle choice. I think that if a woman demands circumcision, a man has the right to demand that form of circumcision in return. After all, women with no labia or hood are 'cleaner' and look 'neater', right? A study in Africa also showed circumcised women having a lower chance of contracting HIV, but I don't see anyone rushing to promote it in the west for this reason the same way they do male circumcision...
