  • Read over the unemployment laws for your state. (It pays to go over them before you go to a hearing, because unemplyment laws are tricky.) In my state they use 'the rule of best evidence' at unemployment hearings (meaning they accept the word of a witness over other testimony), so the only legitimate way that you could be the only one giving evidence and still lose would be if what you said didn't show that you were eligible, according to the law.
