"Thou shalt have no other gods before me."
I've never liked jealous, demanding, male authority figures, so have never courted the god of Patriarchy. The rest of the Commandments merely outline a good person with standards of self-respect and respect for their fellow kind.

None, the whole idea of following commands that a man wrote on a tablet because the schizo thought 'god' told him to is utterly absurd!

George Carlin had it right with his skit on the "Ten Commandments".He had cut the commandments down to two and added an addendum.Thou shall keep thy religion to thyself,be faithful to thy spouse ,and thou shall not kill, except if someone else prays to a different invisible man than you.

The first one. Having no other Gods...people get so lost in their family, or their jobs, or their debt, or keeping up with the neighbors, or making their house looking like a magazine ad...all that becomes god to them.

None of them are hard to follow...as a Christian I am not subject to them. I live by the two commandments Jesus gave us in Matthew 22:37-40. If you live by those two commandments you will fulfill the requirements of the Old Testament laws.

The 10 commandments are only good for teaching to a true Christian.
