  • That one is still being fought over. It used to be assumed that dinosaurs were all cold-blooded, like modern reptiles. It is now thought that at least some were warm-blooded, on the basis of particular patterns that blood vessels leave on bones (which differ between warm-blooded and cold-blooded creatures in the modern world). For a fast summary of the debate, and links to pro and con arguments, see http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/diapsids/metabolism.html .
  • Some dinosaurs, such as Velociraptor, were covered in feathers. The feathers were insulation, meaning the animals were warm blooded.
  • In the age of the dinosoars, there were 2 large critters running around. Dinosoars and reptiles, 2 completely different things. dinosoars were quite small compared to the reptiles that were around at the time. There were NO dinosoars that made home to the water. Now, all dinosoars bones were hollow, like birds, which pushes towards warm blooded. within these hollow bones, scientists found much evidence to link these beasts with birds, rather than reptiles and therefore judge that dinsoars were warm blooded, and made blood within these hollow bones like birds.
