  • Be there to support her in any way she may need support. It is very difficult for a person to share such an intimate violation and chances are she is feeling very alone and scared. Research what other means of support are available (crisis lines, women`s societies) and provide her with the information. Encourage her to go to the doctors, but do not push her into doing anything else she is not ready to do. Offer to go with her to the doctors, to counselling, to the police to report, etc. Everyone deals with rape in their own way, and there is no right or wrong way to handle it. Let her know you are there for her without judgment and that she can trust what she shares with you will stay with you. Good luck.
