I have arteriovenus malformation (AVM). It is, in simple terms, a clot of unused items in your brain that have the chance of killing you. Because of this (and doctors trying to eliminate it), I also have a right-sided weakness that lets me walk with a limp as well as not be able to use my right hand.

Epilepsy. Growing up having seizures at least 40 seizures a week. I've either been given or taken medicine every day. After living with it for over 20 years I went in for brain surgery and by the grace of God I'm still here. It's only a disability if you let it be.

i have scoliosis..a condition that is associated with the spine..my spine's alignment appears to be "curved" thus i sometimes suffer sharp pains in my left shoulder's joints and occasional stiff necks..i rarely take any kind of medicine -except now and then with motrin or tylenol.

A car hit me when I was a kid.

As a result, I have one leg and one of my eyes was removed. I also lost most of my bladder and some associated plumbing. I have to pee through a hole in my side, which has a high social weirdness coefficient and has deflated more than one would-be lover. On the other hand, it is very cool and useful to be able to pee standing up, especially in public bathrooms, so I guess it's an advantage, not a disability. I have a little scoliosis from years on one leg and crutches, but I don't really have problems with it yet like Juggernaut.

Visually disabled. Blind in one eye since birth, and my "good" eye isn't too brilliant.

Paralysis on one side. It's a big problem when I'm out by myself, because I can't hold things with one hand, even though I'm strong enough. So I just deal with it, and try to grab everything that can fit in my good hand all at once.

I have an official disability called rheumatoid arthritis. It is often not a real disability since I can do many physical things except be a carpenter, or hard physical labor or play a guitar, etc.
It doesn't involve mental problems unless you let it.

    I do now.

Diabetic. Have lost all my toes over a number of years and a number of surgeries because of infection. I have neuropathy in both feet about 1/2-2/3 up my calves. I could still walk pretty well, but get ulcers on my feet from pressure that take LONG times to heal.

In November, 2003, I slipped coming in (up 2 steps) from the garage, did an unprepared for deep squat, sitting on a foot, and landing on my back, with most of my body inside on the floor, and my shoulders hanging over the garage step. At the ER, they thought it was just traumatized, and sent me home with a splint that wasn't strong enough. A couple of days later, I fell again, but got myself back up. SIX weeks later, I got to see an orthopedic surgeon who sent me for an MRI. I couldn't manage the regular one (barely fit, and for the first time in my life, found out I could be claustrophobic. A week later, had it done in an open sided MRI. A month later he read the MRIs and sent me to another one. A week later, I saw HIM, and a week later, had surgery to reattach my quad tendon to my kneecap. One week in the hospital, six weeks in a "rehab center" (read "nursing home"), six weeks in a hospital bed at home, and 20 weeks or so of physical therapy, and I could bend my knee 90 degrees. That's where it is, today. Actually, I think my lower leg is twisted a bit which keeps it from bending right.

With all the above, especially the ulcers, I can no longer walk for more than a few moments, and with the knee, cannot even stand for more than a moment or two. I use a wheelchair around the house when I would normally have stood or walked around, and a mobility scooter out in public. I have hand-controls on my van, and a lift for my scooter. I CAN walk short distances, so the lift is in the back of the van.

    Otherwise, though, I'm FINE! ;-)

I have several mental health issues that have left me disabled, unable to work, or maintain a social life outside my home:
    chronic major depressive disorder
    chronic anxiety
    chronic panic attacks
    agoraphobia
    PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder)
    OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder)
    BPD (borderline personality disorder)
    I also suffer from:
intense back spasms that leave me unable to move for anywhere from 15min-1hr
    Psoriasis of the scalp/face
    psoriatic arthritis of the hands
I also suffer from 2 different types of prolapse after having my children, but that's a bit TMI, so I'll leave it at that.

    good luck!
