Way back in the late 50's...........

It was Chuck Berry, The Shirelles, Bo Diddley and Sam Cooke in Nashville, Tennessee at the Hippodrome Skating Rink Auditorium.

    Admission was .50 cents.

    The show was a sellout.

Chuck Berry sang Johnny B. Goode, the Shirelles sang Soldier Boy, Bo Diddley sang Hey, Bo Diddley and Sam Cooke sang Working On The Chain Gang. there were other artists i do not remember.

No booze, no drugs, just a lot of fun and dancing was had by all.

    Melbourne:
I went to see 'The Who'.
But as the order of program line up was:
Paul Jones, The Small Faces, and the Who were the main attraction, I saw them last.

I don't remember the first one, sorry... it was during a time of my life when I was wiping out my memory chemically on a regular basis!

But the most memorable early concert was seeing Elton John at Dodger Stadium on Oct 26, 1975. This was easy to remember, because as I drove my friends home in the massive traffic on the Golden State Freeway, I managed to cause a 5-car pileup that totaled my mother's car and scared the bejesus out of my friends.

I was 17. The concert was wonderful. In later years I learned that Elton attempted suicide the next weekend. Eventually I repaid my mother for the damaged car (no collision coverage :-( )

    It was a heady time.
