When someone files a police report online, will the person who commits the crime be able to see who it is?

well im slightly confused by your question do you mean if someone threatens you over the internet that they will kill you and how to report that???
well if thats the question you should go to a local police station and report it there

- yes there isnt really a internet police station the police deal with it it will take some time but it is illegal to say such things and they will take care of it

Maybe, maybe not. it all depends on the agencies computer security system.

Police reports are public record. this means anyone can pay a fee and receive a copy of an incident report. this happens only in person, not online.

- Thanks for the help! I reported the person online and they told me that email addresses are public record. So now I'm all worried because the person that I reported knows my personal email address, so now I feel I'm in serious danger. So the incident report will basically show what I wrote and my email address/name?

- if you initially gave it to the officer, it will be on the incident report. i would never give personal information, unless i was a victim. being a witness, only give your name and work address and phone number. remember, its info. open to the public.

no its totally private they will see the report but not who made it. They have to see the report because they have to see the reason the charges are being made.Filing online is the same as filing it at the police station.

- I hope it's anonymous because the person was actually arrested and knows me personally. I don't mind if he reads the police report but once he finds out I'm the one that reported him, it's going to be bad... Thanks for the help!

If you have been threaten by someone over the internet and believe (yourself) that the threat is real I would suggest that you inform your local police
as well as go to this site:

to report them get as much information as you can copy email or im's and send them along with your report.
If there are telephone calls record them ! some of these threats ARTE real No JOKE! Protect yourself !
