When i switch on the console(PS3)the tv screen with waves and sound is on but console is not showing and data on the screen...Any help appriciated.

  I want to connect my pc screen to my PS3 but it only has a D-sub connector. I tried using a D-sub to VGI but it didn't work. Any advice?
