  • Nah, its not that big of deal in regards to whatever that problem may be.
  • been thinkin about it. it can get annoying.
  • That's kind of what I was getting at when I asked my "WTF IS IT WITH THE NONSENSE" question...I am not exactly an old AB'er but I have been here since November, and I think that makes me partially seasoned at least. I am considering dropping out. It is getting to be too much for me - I experience a new level of disappointment with the world every day I log on.
  • No. Thank god no one thought of this when I was new. We could have missed so many great ABers then. I love company of oldies and welcome newbie’s.
  • I tried, but since I have become dependent on AB for the cure to boredom, I was un-able to do so. (Eh, I'm just pathetic, what can I say...) Now, I just ignore the more annoying new users, and go about my business looking in unanswered questions and skimming through categories until questions I feel like answering come up.
  • No. I am not a snob, (I hope not anyway). The new folks have as much a place as those who have been here longer. Give these new folks some time to get used to the flow. Answerbag is like a cocktail party, people come and go as they please.
  • Although I'll agree that things have changed, I'm not about to up and abandon one of my favorite ways to keep amused during the day :) I do wish that people would put a little more effort into their posts (spelling, grammar etc) and put more thought into their questions. I really dislike the fill in the blank crap, and questions like "Why me?" or "Do you like me?" etc. are a bunch of nonsense. I also don't like how worried and anal people are getting about the points. And questions like "Why don't people who answer a question bother to rate it?" or "Why can't people remember to rate questions?" NEED to stop. If everyone focused more on asking quality questions, and supplying well thought-out answers, then this would be a much better site. I certainly hope that us "old AB'ers" aren't leaving - as I think that the amount of quality content would really diminish if they/we left.
  • I'm not that old here but I do sense AB is in danger of becoming a "glorified chatroom" (Or is it one already?)and it's NOT only the New members but some veterans as well with "Inside-Joke" Self-congratulatory type of Q. & A. (Include me in in some of those) Am I Wrong? I have mixed feelings about this.
  • No. Well not this old ABer anyway. There are plenty of new ABers who have turned out to be perfectly good people and functional members of the community. And even those who aren't, I'm not going to leave my home here at AB just because of a few bad apples. So I'm sticking around for as long as possible. On the day that every single person I knew when I first came to the site leaves because of obnoxious newbies, then I might leave, but until that day, I shall remain.
  • understood ;)
  • I've only been on Answerbag since December 21st, and only a regular visiter since early January. In my early days I was under the impression that AB was a good, informative site. From January until about late February, there were very intelligent questions popping up everywhere, with 'baggers answering those questions. In addition, there was always the odd fun question which I had no objection to answering. But this month, there has been a dramatic increase in questions such as 'Do You Like Me'. Annoying this may be, but I think that people need to stop moaning and get on with their lives. Almost every online communtiy that I have joined has been around for a few years and on every single one of those communities, older members try and hark back to the good old days, saying how great they were. Older members need to learn that as sites like this become popular, more people will join. A large percentage of this new influx of members will consist of 13-15 year olds, and they will naturally see AB as a place to socialize and ask nonsensical questions. As I have said, people need to accept this fact What is the point in people going on about what 'has been'. The time is now, and whether you liek it or not, things will change. What is happening on AB right now may not be what you want, but it is for the better, as it keeps our growing population growing and thriving Yes, this may sound a bit hypocritical from me, due to teh fact that I have been taking the attitude that older ABers have, but this is what I really think. In my opinion, it's a bit immature to start complaining and then leaving just because a few stupid questions come up. if you're not happy, you can always take the time to provide new material for the site that actually needs intelligence to answer. I may not be the smartest of you here, indeed, I never answer a number of questions that require intelligence, which makes me feel like an immature kid. But in this particular case, I know what I'm saying
