    The earth has been cycling into and out of ice ages for several millions of years. We know what happens. Snow accumulates and glaciers form that are sometimes miles deep. The sea levels fall by about 100 feet due to the amount of water being sequestered in the ice sheets.

    Some scientists suspect that ice ages may result from global warming. I realize that this may seem counterintuitive to most, but it is a possible outcome of warming as the Earths systems tend to maintain a dynamic balance. An ice age allows more energy to be reflected back into space, restoring said balance.

    Incidentally, interglacial maximums, periods between ice ages, have historically lasted aroud 12,000 years. It has been about that long since the beginning of this one. Over the last few million years the 'normal' state is being in an ice age.

    We are warming up FROM the ice age, but most people want you to believe that we are causing the global warming, when it actually is just a natural phase of our planet, , granted we are speeding it up somewhat, but not as much as what the politicians want you to believe.. its all politics and "smoke and mirrors" tactics.
