I would be shocked. The Catholic church is so hung up on their traditions and beliefs that I highly doubt it would happen.
This is a huge company. So many things built into it. POlitics is one of them.
Brazil has a lot of black catholics in Bahia. I'm sure one of them is qualified for the task.

I would hope that race is not a consideration. A Pope should be elected based on a righteous life, high moral standards, and inspiration from the Holy Spirit.
I was disappointed in the last presidential race when so many voted for Obama based on race and called people who voted differently "racists".
I'm sure that Benedict XVI is the last European pope. Catholicism has all but died off in Europe.
I think the next pope will be from the developing world, either South America, Africa or Asia. Therefore, there is a very good chance that he will be black, or, at least, not white.
well it don't really matter,a man is a man. and a preacher is a preacher. I don't trust anybody religous,most i have ever met is a dogmatic gust of wind that pats you on the back with one hand and picks your pocket with the other.Even the bible tells you not to trust them,must be true or maybe the bible is a lie.
