Help answer this question below.

I took my vehicle to the mechanic and he says that my 04 grand caravan' s engine has a whole at 29,900 miles ? He says that it needs to be replaced or the problem will get worse. Is there anything else that can be done?

    I haven't a clue as to what "whole" you refer. You also said that the car is only three years old...CHECK YOUR WARRANTEE....It might be covered....Rear seal and bearings will nohy wear out in three years..Something isn't quite right....Ask a bunch of questions....If no answers that you like then contact the manufacturer..Be pushy, were talking a lot of... money

    Unless you have a cracked block or some other major problem then the engine should be repairable. Ask him to list out exactly what is wrong with it. I'd take it to 5 shops at least before replacing an engine - that's an expensive proposition.

    no actully you can get a second opion but it will only get worse you need to get it replaced but its going to cost a pretty penny.

    Not sure but I would get a second opinon. Sorry i'm not to helpful. Take it to another place because that seems odd.
